The Ministry of Education Vigorously Boosting Dialogues between Vocational Education and Industrial Development

In March 2010, the “Development and Docking Summit of China’s Vocational Education and Industry of Oil and Chemical Engineering” was co-held by the Ministry of Education and China Education Association of Chemical Industry in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, marking the start of dialogue mechanism of vocational education and industrial development. By the end of 2011, 17 rounds of dialogues between vocational education and other industries had been conducted, forming the initial shape of the dialogue and coordination mechanism featuring the integration between education and industry, and between school and enterprise. In order to further promote the dialogues, on February 10, 2012, the Ministry of Education convened the “2011 Conclusion Meeting on Dialogues on Vocational Education and Industrial Development & 2012 Plan-setting Conference”, putting forward six tasks: formulating together plans for industrial talent development, guiding together the reform and innovation on talent cultivation mode for vocational education, completing training mechanism for teachers, exploring together group running of vocational education, carrying out the talent training quality evaluation, refining cases on integration between education and industry and school-enterprise cooperation. In March, the Ministry of Education released the “Notice on Carrying out Year 2012 Dialogues on Vocational Education and Industrial Development”, which set plans to hold 15 rounds of docking activities in 2012 to consolidate the coordination mechanism of school-enterprise cooperation and integration between education and industry.(Annex
