Since the reform and opening-up of China, the country has witnessed economic boom on all fronts. The rapid development of manufacturing industry has also placed vocational education on a prominent position. The dual-system vocational education which was reputed as the secret weapon to help Germany realize the economic rejuvenation has also become the important carrier for educational cooperation between the two countries. Since then, China and Germany have conducted exchanges and cooperation on vocational education for over 30 years. In 2006 when the first Sino-German Exchange Conference on Vocational Education was held, the conference each year has focused on the situations and features of the two countries and selected the common concerns over vocational education of both countries as the themes. Favored by the circles of vocational education and enterprises of both countries, the conference has become one of the important platforms for both countries to promote their cooperation on vocational education.
