UK-China Vocational Education Dialogue: Interaction and Cooperation

On December 6~7, 2011, the “UK-China Vocational Education Policy Dialogue”, jointly held by the Ministry of Education, P.R.China and UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and sponsored by British Embassy in China, British Association of Cultural Exchange, and Tianjin Municipal Committee of Education, was convened in Tianjin. The conference took “Closer Cooperation, Common Development, Mutual Benefit and Common Success” as the theme and promoted exchanges of national experience in development strategies, policy system and institutional operation and development between China and UK. Lu Xin, the vice-minister of the Ministry of Education of China and John Hayes, Deputy Minister of UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, attended the conference and made keynote speeches. More than 20 experts from fields of vocational education, skills development and enterprises of UK and over 90 Chinese delegates from educational administration departments, related industrial associations, scientific institutions and vocational schools participated in the conference.
