Xinxiang Municipality is located in northern Henan Province, bordering on Taihang Mountain in the north, Yellow River in the south; it is close to the provincial capital Zhengzhou; it is one of important cities of the Central Plain and Cross Core. It has 12 counties (municipalities, districts) under its jurisdiction, with 8249 km2 of area and population of 5.63 million. It is the economic, cultural and transportation center of northern Henan Province. In 2010, the whole municipality realized a gross output value of 118.1 billion Yuan.
