On June 23 to 24, 2014, the National Vocational Education Working Conference was convened in Beijing.

President Xi Jinping made important instructions on the acceleration of vocational education. Premier Li Keqiang met with all representatives of the conference and gave important remarks before the conference. The Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Ma Kai participated and addressed the conference.

The conference was the third National Vocational Education Working Conference convened by the State Council since the reform and opening-up of China. The State Council issued the “Decisions to Accelerate the Development of Modern Vocational Education” before the conference.

Ten institutes including the Provincial government of Tianjin, Shanghai, Shandong and Heilongjiang, Chinese Vocational Education Society, Chinese Civil Aviation Bureau, BAIC Motor Group Corporation LTD., Tongren Vocational and Technical College, Huanghuai College and Sichuan Modern Vocational Education Group delivered keynote speeches on the conference.

The delegates from the government of provinces and municipalities, relative national departments, some industrial associations, enterprises, vocational schools, research institutes of vocational education and some specially invited representatives participated in the meeting.

The holding of this conference and the issuing of the “Decisions to Accelerate the Development of Modern Vocational Education” are a new milestone in the reform and development of vocational education in China, which has great historical significance.（Annex）
